 E. F. T. A.

( EASTERN FIELD TRIP ALLIANCE )

            Who are we?

Previously the Northeast Field Trip Alliance (NEFTA) that was asked to expand to involve all the clubs that are affiliated with EFMLS so we are now EFTA. A means of opening field trips to our fellow EFMLS members along the Eastern coast.

How do we become members or get involved?

It’s simple. All you have to do is open up 3 of your yearly digs to allow members of other EFTA clubs to participate in the dig. They would need to be posted on our website (http://www.efta.biz/)  and any member of a club would contact his field trip person, who would then contact the field trip person in charge of the dig. (Individuals would not be contacting the dig site chairperson directly.) Your club must also have their liability insurance paid in order for your members to participate in any actual digs.

When must your dig sites & dates be in?

The sooner you can get your date in the better. We would like to have them by May 1st so your members may participate in any early digs (remember your club must submit 3 digs before your members would be allowed to participate in the Alliance dig)

What is considered a dig?

Any field trip that would be of interest not only to your members, but anyone in the clubs that are affiliated with EFMLS and members of the Alliance. It could be an actual “quarry” or site dig, an informative tour, or maybe a swap where the Alliance members participate as one of your members would.

How do we submit our dig & dates?

Digs & dates can be submitted to the webmaster : Jake Kramer @ speedyjake@aol.com

I would appreciate if you use this format :  Date….. Sponsoring Club…. General Location… minerals, fossils, or what at dig/event and time.  ---->>>

Example:    May 1, 2005.....Capital District.... Ravena, NY....... for quartz & calcite xls  limit 30 people, working quarry rules.  Sorry no one under 12.  No facilities. Contact phartig@nycap.rr.com for details.
